Habitats and Comfort
Player guide · Care and capture · Species gallery
Use this list to choose a floor for each of the 60 slime species. These are the default comfort preferences, including inherited habitat blocks for hybrids. The gallery also shows the floor and biomes on each species card. Preferred biomes improve comfort; they do not imply that an acquired species spawns there naturally.
How comfort works
The slime must stand on a listed block. Placing that block nearby or in a wall does not grant the floor bonus. Any one accepted block gives the same bonus; combining several types does not stack it. Other block variants count only if listed. Water, food, decorations, and light do not provide a general comfort bonus.
| Environment | Comfort target before penalties |
|---|---|
| Neither preferred floor nor preferred biome | 30 |
| Preferred biome only | 60 |
| Preferred floor only | 65 |
| Preferred floor and preferred biome | 95 |
Comfort moves toward this target by up to two points per loaded second. Keep the slime in its enclosure while it adjusts. Crouch and interact with an empty hand to check its current needs.
More than eight evolution slimes in the local four-block check subtracts 20 from the target; the slime itself counts. A fire-immune slime in water, rain, or bubbles, or a freezing-immune slime on fire, receives a 50-point penalty. The final environmental target is clamped to 0–100.
For example, Ancestral standing on Purpur Block, End Stone Bricks, or Block of Gold tends toward 65 comfort. In End Highlands, that becomes 95 before penalties. Mixing those three floors provides no additional bonus.
Floors and biomes for all species
Names follow Minecraft 1.21.1 in English. Server datapacks can change both the block tags and species biome preferences; this table lists the mod defaults.
