Acquire derived species by breeding compatible adults or transforming an existing individual through metamorphosis.

Of 60 species, 62 can also breed with their own species; Phoenix requires an individual ritual, for 79 total pairs. Parents must satisfy care, relatedness, energy, and space requirements. Offspring inherit alleles; their species follows the defined recipe rather than arbitrary ability mixing.

Open Evolution in the analyzer for biome, temperature, time, weather, depth, age, accumulated exposure, and other route requirements. Early routes require 12,000 age ticks and 6,000 exposure ticks; advanced routes require longer preparation. See advanced lineages for the full route details.
The adult must be bound to its caretaker, sufficiently trusting, calm, at hunger ≤40, comfort and energy ≥60, and at least half health, without combat or breeding readiness. It must meet the recipe's gene, substrate, biome, temperature, and environmental requirements.
Solar requires clear daytime with open sky. Lunar requires a full-moon night with open sky. Abyssal requires full submersion at Y ≤40. Supercell requires thunder and open sky; Aurora requires a clear night with open sky.
Exposure advances only while loaded under valid conditions. It pauses outside those conditions, in capsules, or in unloaded chunks.
Complete a transformation
As the caretaker, crouch and use the catalyst after meeting every requirement. Completion consumes the item and applies the recipe's energy and hunger costs.
The slime preserves identity, alleles, caretaker, ancestry, age, and history. A metamorphosis changes that individual; breeding creates a new child. Completed caretaker actions are recorded in the Slimepedia.
Eclipse, Supercell, Aurora, Ancestral, and Celestial also require ascension milestones. Recipes and validation are documented under datapacks.
